Well, the tax return saved us.

We now have 3,422.72 in savings!!

Congrats! But I have a question... was your tax refund that much? Would you have been better off if you could have used that money throughout the year? I'm always surprised that people prefer to get a large tax refund instead of adjusting their withholding so that they get more money in their paychecks each pay period, but that's just me...

Maybe it was not a question of withholdings, but medical expenses, child care expenses, etc.

The tax refundtotal was alot more. We used the rest to pay bills. We do withhold more during the year though.
